LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Randolph Macon women's soccer team fell short on the road Tuesday afternoon, falling 1-0 to Lynchburg in the Quarterfinals of the 2023 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Tournament.

How it Happened:
- Randolph-Macon was playing the majority of the first half defending, as they saw 13 Lynchburg shots in 45 minutes. Kelly Rogers (Crozet, Va./Western Albemarle), Abigail Pesut (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam), Charlotte Bradshaw (Boydton, Va./Bluestone), Grace Turney (Dayton, Md./River Hill) and Lily Alexander (Wake Forest, N.C./Wakefield) held tough, keeping the Hornets from scoring on any of those shots.
- The Lemon and Black had two real opportunities on the offensive end in the first half with shots from Sammie Hoefs (New Market, Md./Linganore), but both were turned away by LYN netminder Jade Lecklider to keep the 0-0 tie into the half.
- Lynchburg found the first goal of the game as Leilianis Irigoyen made a run at the right side of the Yellow Jacket net and found the back of the net to give the Hornets the advantage in the 61st minute.
- Bradshaw had a chance to score the equalizing goal in the 74th minute, but Lecklider saved it to seal the 1-0 victory for Lynchburg.

- Lynchburg tallied 20 shots in the contest to the Yellow Jackets nine. LYN put ten shots on frame to RMCs three.
- The Hornets had five corner opportunities to Randolph-Macon's two.
- Zoe Long (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) finished the contest with nine saves in 90 minutes for Randolph-Macon.
