ASHLAND, Va. – The Randolph-Macon women's volleyball team took advantage of it being the first time in front of the home fans, as the Yellow Jackets cruised to a 3-1 win over Meredith Wednesday night at Crenshaw Gym.

The Basics:

Scores: Randolph-Macon 3, Meredith 1 (25-18, 25-13, 16-25, 25-22)

Records: Randolph-Macon 4-1, Meredith 3-2

How It Happened:

• The opening set saw Randolph-Macon take control early as two strong Milly Mach (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) serves doubled-up Meredith 12-6, setting the pace for the commanding set win.
• The second stanza saw some of the best volleyball the Yellow Jackets have played all season, as Randolph-Macon held Meredith to just 13 points across the set.
• The Avenging Angles would not go away quietly, as the visitors answered with a strong third set to avoid the sweep.
• Randolph-Macon would be called on to make plays down the stretch of the fourth set, as Meredith pulled within a point at 23-22 before the Yellow Jackets found the final two points of the match.

Inside The Numbers:

• Grace Parker (Andover, N.J./Pope John XXIII) led the way for the Yellow Jackets with a season-high 22 kills, while Leslie Curry (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) tallied 11 digs to lead the way on the defensive side.
• Milly Mach again shined with 26 assists along side her Freshman counterpart Kaitlyn Kaplan (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Collegiate), who recorded 14.

Up Next:

• The Yellow Jackets will enjoy six days off before returning home to take on Eastern Mennonite in their Old Dominion Athletic Conference opener. The action is set for a 7:00 p.m. start inside of Crenshaw Gym.
