Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – The Randolph-Macon women's volleyball team dropped its first match in 10 tilts Friday night, falling 3-1 to Averett inside Crenshaw Gym.

Records: Randolph-Macon 9-2 (2-1 ODAC), Averett 8-5 (3-0 ODAC)
How It Happened:
- Randolph-Macon looked dominate in the first set, holding Averett to just 12 points while recording .364 hitting percentage as a group.
- Averett answered the call in the second set to knott things up at a set, apiece. The Cougars closed the set out with two R-MC errors after the Yellow Jackets pulled to within one.
- The Cougars hitters came alive int he third set, raising their hitting percentage to over .200 while holding Randolph-Macon to an under-.100 percentage for the first time in the match.
- The fourth set saw Averett's effort on the defensive side shine, as R-MC was unable to get anything going offensively to stifle any chance the home team had to get back into the match.
Inside The Numbers :
- Grace Parker (Andover, N.J./Pope John XXIII) led the way for the Yellow Jackets with 18 kills and 12 digs, while Leslie Curry (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) tallied 17 digs of her own to lead the way on the defensive side.
- Averett had five different Cougars record five or more kills in the win as Emma Nash led the way with 13 of her own.
