The Yellow Jackets responded in a big way by keeping ahead of the Marlins for the better part of the second game after being held scoreless in the opener. Rilee Baughan (Warsaw, Va. / Rappahannock) provided one of the RBIs as Jessica Pittman (Virginia Beach, Va. / Kempsville) scored in the second inning. The win was also just one of three losses VWU's Hanna Hull suffered all season as she went 22-3 en route to a national championship.

The Yellow Jackets blanked the Quakers by identical 7-0 scores in both games. Gracie Ellis (Fr., New Kent, Va. / New Kent) punched out 14 of 21 batters in a perfect game which helped garner her Wilson/NFCA National and ODAC Pitcher of the Week honors. Baughan followed up with a shutout of her own, but really got the job done from the plate with three home runs on the day to help receive ODAC Player of the Week honors.
