R-MC has won 10 straight, 21 of 23 and 33 of the past 37 meetings with the Eagles. The Yellow Jackets recorded an 80-51 win in Ashland earlier this season. R-MC had three wins vs. BC a season ago. R-MC won at BC 74-56 in the non-conference season opener, won 99-68 in Ashland in a conference contest, and won 80-49 at BC in the quarterfinals of the 2021 ODAC Tournament. The Yellow Jackets were victorious twice two seasons ago, 97-55 on Dec. 4 in Ashland and 83-69 on Feb. 5 at BC. Josh Merkel is 10-1 against the Eagles.

With the victory over Roanoke, R-MC extended its program record for home winning streak in Crenshaw Gym at 42. It is the longest current streak in Division III. R-MC previously won 32 straight in Crenshaw Gym from 1982-85. The overall program record for home winning streak is 50, from 1961-66.
200 Career Wins
Josh Merkel earned his 200th career victory with the win over Guilford. He won 66 games in four years at Salisbury & has won 135 in seven years at R-MC.
Last Time Out
Miles Mallory scored 19 points, one of four Yellow Jackets to score in double figures, as R-MC outlasted Roanoke 72-67.
How it Happened:
The Maroons hit a three-pointer to start the scoring before buckets by Josh Talbert and Buzz Anthony gave the Yellow Jackets their first lead. RC scored the next five points before Talbert and Mallory scored in the paint to level the score at 8-8 with 15:50 left in the first half. The Maroons scored six straight points to take their largest lead at 14-8 before triples by Will Coble and DaQuan Morris tied it at 14-14 with 12:30 remaining. R-MC trailed 20-18 before treys by Morris sparked and capped a 13-4 run as R-MC took a 31-24 lead with 4:45 left. RC used a 10-4 spurt to pull within one before Morris hit three free throws and Anthony sank a pair of foul shots to push the lead back to six at 40-34 with 42 seconds left. After a layup by the Maroons, Anthony hit a jumper just before the horn to give the home team a 42-36 edge at the break. Morris had 12 points in the first period. RC started the second half with a 12-3 run to take a 48-45 lead with 15:45 left in the contest. Anthony had a layup to end an 8-0 spurt as R-MC reclaimed the lead at 53-48 with 13:30 remaining. A 6-2 run by the visitors made it a one-point game at 55-54 before Anthony had six points in a 15-4 spurt as the Yellow Jackets took their largest lead at 70-58 with 5:30 left before R-MC would register the 72-67 victory.

• The Yellow Jackets had four score in double figures. Along with 19 by Mallory, Anthony added 16, Morris put in 12 and Talbert tallied 10.
Last Meeting
Buzz Anthony had 20 points and nine assists as R-MC shot 78% in the first half in defeating Bridgewater 80-51.
How it Happened:
- The Yellow Jackets exploded to an 18-0 lead in the first seven minutes. R-MC had six different players score, with five by DaQuan Morris and four free throws by Anthony. The Eagles sank two free throws with 12:53 left in the first half and made their first field goal with 12:12 remaining. The Yellow Jackets made 11 of their first 12 field goal attempts in building a 29-8 lead with eight minutes left. A jumper by Anthony pushed the advantage to 25 at 37-12 with 4:45 left. Josh Talbert had two of the final three buckets in the half for R-MC as the home team led 48-19 at the break. The Yellow Jackets went 20 of 26 from the floor for 77% and 16-20 (80%) inside the arc. Anthony had 17 points and 6 assists.
- David Funderburg had a layup to cap an 8-4 start to the second half as R-MC took its largest lead at 56-23 with 17:15 remaining. BC scored nine straight to cut the deficit to 24 before a triple by Anthony made it 59-32 with 13:13 left. Talbert hit a free throw and a layup to extend the lead back to 29 at 66-37 with 8:15 remaining. Loginn Norton hit a jumper to push the lead back to 30 at 76-46 with three minutes left. Norton went 4 for 4 from the free throw line in the final two minutes as R-MC recorded the 80-51 victory.
By The Numbers:
- The Yellow Jackets had three players score in double figures. Anthony had 20, Talbert added 15 and Daniel Mbangue tallied 10, one away from his career high.

ODAC Player of the Week
Miles Mallory was named ODAC Player of the Week on Feb. 7 for the third time this season. Mallory averaged 18.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in three ODAC wins. He had 14 points and five boards in 24 minutes in a road win at Randolph. Mallory had his eighth double-double of the season with 21 points and 11 boards in a home win over second-place Guilford. He had 19 points and five caroms in a home win over Roanoke.

Buzz Anthony now owns the R-MC program record with 221 career steals. He has 698 career assists, surpassing the ODAC record of 680 held by Tim Crawford of EMU (1977-81).
Daunting Defense
R-MC is first in the ODAC and sixth in the nation in scoring defense, allowing 59.4 points per game. Over the past 14 contests, opponents have scored an average of 56.2 points per game.
