Series vs. Hampden-Sydney
This is the 127th meeting between R-MC & H-SC. Randolph-Macon is 55-60-11 all-time against H-SC in a series that dates back to 1893. The Yellow Jackets have won eight straight and 10 of the past 11 contests against the Tigers. Last fall, R-MC posted a 37-14 win at H-SC. In the spring of 2021, R-MC registered a 28-0 shutout victory at H-SC. In 2019, R-MC posted a 45-3 victory over H-SC in Ashland. Tre Frederick rushed for 143 yards and Burke Estes threw for 218 yards and two TDs. In 2018 at H-SC, R-MC built a 48-14 lead early in the fourth quarter and recorded a 48-35 victory to win the ODAC Championship. Jordan Hall rushed for 99 yards and four touchdowns. Burke Estes completed 15 of 20 passes for 231 yards and two scores. Eric Hoy had eight catches for 115 yards. In 2017, Hoy had 170 all-purpose yards and scored five rushing touchdowns in a 56-28 R-MC win. It marked the first time the Yellow Jackets scored 50 points against the Tigers. R-MC is 26-18-1 in ODAC contests with H-SC going back to 1976. The Yellow Jackets won the first encounter with the Tigers, 12-6 in 1893.

Last Meeting
Brecht Heuchan threw for 265 yards and three touchdowns as R-MC defeated Hampden-Sydney 37-14.
How it Happened:
- The Tigers took the opening kickoff and drove to the RMC32, but the Yellow Jacket defense stopped H-SC on fourth down and took over on downs. R-MC moved to the HSC9, where Chris Vidal nailed a 26-yard field goal with 1:54 left in the first quarter. The 16-play drive of 59 yards took 9:50.
- H-SC hit a long TD pass later in the period to take a 7-3 lead with 38 seconds remaining in the period.
- R-MC responded by driving 67 yards in 12 plays, as Nick Hale reached the end zone from 18 yards out to give the Yellow Jackets the lead for good at 10-7.
- The Yellow Jacket defense held the Tigers to three-and-out and took over on their own 19. Heuchan hit David Wallis in stride for an 81-yard touchdown pass to give the home team a 17-7 lead with 6:55 left in the second period.
- H-SC was held without a first down on its next possession. The Tiger punter mishandled the snap and his knee touched the ground at the HSC16. Vidal would connect on a 27-yard field goal as the lead grew to 20-7 with 3:11 left until halftime.
- The Tigers did not pick up a first down on their ensuing possession and the Yellow Jackets took over on their own 47 following a short punt. Heuchan found Wallis on a 14-yard scoring strike with 13 seconds left in the half as R-MC led 27-7 at intermission.
- The Yellow Jackets took the second-half kickoff and drove to the HSC19, where Vidal nailed a 36-yard field goal to give R-MC a 30-7 lead five minutes into the third quarter.
- On the final play of the third period, Heuchan hit Joey Hunt with a 33-yard scoring strike as the Yellow Jackets went up 37-7.
- H-SC would tally the final points with 2:36 left to make the final 37-14.
Last Time Out
Andrew Ihle rushed for a career-best 104 yards and four TDs as R-MC amassed a season-high 563 yards of total offense in registering a 52-10 home win over Ferrum to capture the 2022 ODAC title.
How it Happened:
- The Panthers took the opening kickoff and drove 74 yards in nine plays to reach the end zone and take a 7-0 lead four minutes into the contest.
- The Yellow Jackets responded by going 75 yards in 13 plays in 7:17, capped by a two-yard TD run by Ihle to level the score at 7-7 with 3:34 left in the first.
- Early in the second quarter, Silas James picked off a pass at the RMC 36. Drew Campanale hit David Wallis with a 64-yard TD pass as R-MC took a 14-7 lead one minute into the second period.
- Jacob Hutchinson had a sack on a fourth-down play to give the Yellow Jackets the ball on their 38. Campanale finished the drive with a 45-yard TD toss to Wallis as R-MC went up 21-7 with 10:15 remaining until halftime.
- Following a short Panther punt, Ihle scored from seven yards out with 5:50 left in the second quarter as the lead grew to 28-7.
- After another FC punt, Ihle capped a 55-yard drive with a 13-yard TD run to give the home team a 35-7 advantage at intermission.
- Ihle had a 12-yard scoring jaunt on R-MC's first drive of the second half to extend the lead to 42-7.
- One minute into the final period, Kyle Ihle hit a 33-yard field goal to put the Yellow Jackets up 45-7.
- The Panthers connected on a 34-yard field goal with 11:02 left to make it 45-10.
- Following a fumble by the Yellow Jackets on the FC 8, Dominick Staples returned an interception 15 yards for a touchdown to make the final 52-10.

The program record for wins in a season is nine, achieved for the 10th time this season. Half of those nine-win campaigns have come in the past six full seasons. R-MC has won nine games in 2022, 2021, 2019, 2018, 2016, 1984, 1969, 1968, 1937 and 1935.
Win Streak
R-MC has a 15-game win streak over the past two seasons. The program record for consecutive victories is 19, with three at the end of the 1967 season, nine in 1968 and seven to start the 1969 campaign.
ODAC Titles
R-MC claimed its 13th ODAC title and fourth in seven years. The Yellow Jackets won ODAC crowns in 1976, 1978, 1979, 1984, 1985, 1989, 1993, 1997, 2008, 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2022. In the 47-year history of the ODAC, R-MC has won the most championships with 13. Pedro Arruza has led the Yellow Jackets to five titles, while Ted Keller and Jim Blackburn followed with three ODAC crowns as R-MC head coach. Scott Boone and Joe Riccio both led the Yellow Jackets to one title.

Campanale Offensive Player of the Week
Drew Campanale was named ODAC Offensive Player of the Week for his work against Bridgewater. He completed all 17 of his pass attempts for 256 yards and three passing touchdowns. Campanale carried the ball four times for 35 yards, including a 25-yard TD run in the second quarter.
Deaver Defensive Player of the Week
Jackson Deaver was named ODAC Defensive Player of the Week as well as to the D3football.com National Team of the Week for his performance in the win over Guilford. He tied for the team lead with eight tackles. He had 5.5 tackles for loss (minus-27 yards) and a pair of QB sacks for a loss of 13 yards. Deaver contributed to a defense that held the Quakers to minus-30 yards rushing on 28 carries.
Ihle Offensive Player of the Week
Andrew Ihle was named ODAC Offensive Player of the Week. He rushed for 83 yards and five rushing touchdowns in the win over Guilford. Coming off the bench, Ihle had two scores in the second quarter to help erase a 13-6 deficit. He reached the end zone twice in the third period and added a 13-yard TD run in the fourth quarter as R-MC outscored the Quakers 28-0 after halftime.
