Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – The Randolph-Macon field hockey team hosted 19th ranked Lynchburg in Ashland on Monday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets were kept off the scoreboard as the Hornets won by a trio of goals.

How it Happened:
- The Hornets began the game sending five shots on goal in the first quarter, tallying one goal to take the lead off the stick of Emily Yanes.
- The second quarter saw a duo of Lynchburg goals including a penalty stroke that found the back of the cage.
- The final minutes of the first half saw momentum shift in the Yellow Jackets' favor after goalkeeper Kelsey Seiler (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) made a point blank save to shift the tide. R-MC found their way to four penalty corners, forcing pressure on the LYN defense.
- Neither team could amass anything in the second half, as the final 30 minutes saw no goals scored despite a flurry of shots from the Hornets. The R-MC defense kept the deficit at three, which stayed for the remainder of the game.
Inside the Numbers:
- Seiler totaled six saves, including some key stops to keep the Yellow Jackets within striking distance.
- Senior defender Tori Mumm (Forest Hill, Md./Bel Air) led the efforts defensively, making important plays in front of Seiler.
- Mia Kuhnle (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) had the lone shot on goal for R-MC which was a point blank save by the LYN goalkeeper on an excellent chance.
