Box Score FERRUM, Va. – Freshman Abbey Muir (Moseley, Va./Cosby) had the game-winning goal and assisted on the final score as the R-MC women's soccer team tallied a 3-1 victory at Ferrum on Saturday afternoon to kick off ODAC play.

How it Happened:
- The Yellow Jackets applied the pressure early, with two corners and two shots on goal in the first nine minutes. Sophomore Olivia Owens (Salisbury, Md./James M. Bennett) scored in the 19th minute as R-MC took a 1-0 lead. The Panthers would answer in the 23rd minute, scoring off a corner kick to even the score at 1-1. After several shots by the visitors, Muir broke the deadlock in the 37th minute on an assist by senior Tyria Smalls (Fredericksburg, Va./Massaponax) as the Yellow Jackets took a 2-1 edge. That would be the score at the break. R-MC had an 8-3 edge in shots and 3-1 advantage in corners.
- Senior Maddie Bauman (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield) had two of R-MC's first four shots in the second half as the Yellow Jackets looked for an insurance goal. Bauman finally scored with 46 seconds remaining on an assist by Muir as R-MC secured the 3-1 victory.

- R-MC outshot Ferrum 20-8. Bauman led the attack with four shots, while Riley Russ and Sammie Hoefs both added three.
- The Yellow Jackets had five total saves. Sophomore Abby Cook (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) had one in the first half, while sophomore Zoe Long (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) had four in a scoreless second half.
