ASHLAND, Va. – Senior Sydney Koch (Raleigh, N.C./Sanderson) had 10 kills with no errors and senior Danielle LaRosa (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) added nine kills as the Randolph-Macon women's volleyball team rallied in the each of the final two games to pull out a 3-0 win over Guilford in ODAC action on Friday evening.

How It Happened

• The Yellow Jackets jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first game, with Koch recording a pair of kills. The Quakers closed to within three at 8-5 before four straight points by R-MC pushed the lead to 12-5. The advantage would grow to 16-7. GC tallied three consecutive points before a kill by sophomore Megan Bost (Angier, N.C./West Johnston) stopped the streak. The Yellow Jackets would push the lead to 10 at 22-12 before posting a 25-17 win. LaRosa had five kills in five total attacks, while Koch had four kills in five attacks. R-MC hit .333, compared to -.056 by GC.
• Neither team would lead by more than three in Game 2. The teams stayed within a point of each other early before the Quakers went up 6-4. R-MC would score four straight to go up two at 8-6. GC got three points in a row to reclaim the lead at 9-8. The Yellow Jackets trailed 11-10 before another four-point run made it 14-11. Three straight by the Quakers tied it again at 14-14. R-MC was up 19-18 before GC scored four in a row to take a 22-19 lead. The Yellow Jackets would record the final six points, including kills by LaRosa and junior Grace Parker (Andover, N.J./Pope John XXIII), as the home team took a 25-22 victory. There were 15 ties and 10 lead changes in Game 2.
• The Quakers would register the first six points of the third game to take control early. The Yellow Jackets would get five of the next seven points to pull within three at 8-5. R-MC got within one at 10-9 and would eventually tie the game at 13-13 on a kill by Parker. It was knotted at 15-15 when GC tallied three straight to go ahead 18-15. The Yellow Jackets were down 22-17 before an 8-1 run sealed the match for R-MC. With the home team trailing 23-22, sophomore Charli Dietz (Radford, Va./Radford) had two service aces and her kill ended the match.

• Koch had 10 kills and 16 total attacks for a hit percentage of .625.
• Koch, LaRosa and junior Gracyn Draney (Forest, Va./Jefferson Forest) each had two block assists.
• Senior Macguire Gubba (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) topped the Yellow Jackets with 22 assists.
• R-MC registered 13 service aces, with three apiece for Dietz and sophomore Leslie Currie (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover).
• Parker and senior Madison Warlick (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) both had six digs for the Yellow Jackets.
