Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Junior Sydney Koch (Raleigh, N.C./Sanderson) had 14 kills and five blocks, while sophomore Grace Parker (Andover, N.J./Pope John XXIII) added 13 kills and five blocks, as the Randolph-Macon women's volleyball team fell in five sets to Eastern Mennonite in ODAC action on Sunday afternoon.

How It Happened
- The Royals would tally the first three points of Game 1 before a kill by Koch would halt the run. Following a point by EMU, sophomore Jordan Davis-Allen (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan) had two service aces in a four-point run as R-MC took its first lead at 5-4. The teams would stay within two points of each other until the Royals went up 12-9. The Yellow Jackets got the next two points to pull within one before EMU scored five straight to take a 17-11 advantage. A kill by junior Madison Warlick (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) capped a 7-3 spurt as the home team got within two at 20-18. The Royals would register five of the next six points to take the first game 25-19. EMU hit .435 in Game 1 compared to .100 for R-MC.
- The Yellow Jackets would record the first four points of the second game and led 7-3 before four straight by the visitors tied it at 7-7. R-MC got the next four points, capped by a kill by Davis-Allen, to go up 11-7. EMU would get five of the next six points to level the score at 12-12. After the Yellow Jackets put up three in a row on a kill and two aces by Warlick, the Royals answered with five straight to take a 17-15 edge. After R-MC tied it at 17-17, EMU got eight of the final 11 points to win Game 2 by a score of 25-20.
- EMU would have the first point of Game 3 before two blocks and kills by Koch and Parker helped make up a five-point run as R-MC took a 5-1 lead. The Royals got with one at 6-5 before three kills by Parker highlighted a five-point spurt as the Yellow Jackets went up 11-5. R-MC led 15-9 before EMU put up four straight to pull within two. The Yellow Jackets would close on a 10-1 run, with two kills by Parker and Koch, two blocks by Koch and one by Parker, and two aces by freshman Charli Dietz (Radford, Va./Radford) highlighting the spurt.
- Koch had three kills as part of a 5-0 start for the Yellow Jackets in the fourth game. The lead grew to six at 10-4. Three times EMU closed with three before R-MC built it to seven at 19-12. The Yellow Jackets were up 21-14 before three straight by the Royals made it 21-17. R-MC would take the next four points to win 25-17 and even the match at two games apiece.
- The Royals would score three of the first points to take the early lead. EMU was ahead 6-4 before seven straight points gave the visitors a 13-4 advantage. The Royals would win the final game 15-7.
