Box Score (ASHLAND, Va.) – It was almost déjà vu for the Randolph-Macon women's soccer team as they fought Virginia Wesleyan to a scoreless draw on nice night Thursday evening. It was a rematch of last year's ODAC tournament championship in which the Yellow Jackets were awarded the title after besting the Marlins on penalty kicks after another scoreless draw, but no shootout took place given this was a regular season game.
The Basics
Score: Randolph-Macon 0, Virginia Wesleyan 0
Venue: Nunnally Field

How It Happened
- Defense was the name of the game in the first half as the teams combined for 14 shots with only five on goal. A pair of chances on target were taken late in the half as Anna Pedicone sent a laser that was just tipped by Abby Cook (Fr., Glen Allen, Va. / Glen Allen) that ricocheted off the crossbar. It immediately bounced back out for a shot by the Marlins' Gracie Mullins from eight yards out, but Cook was able to recover and make a kick save with the left leg.
- Another close call took place in the second half, but this time it was Zoe Long (Fr., Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian) who made the big save. The Marlins fired another shot that hit square on the left post and bounced back out for another attempt. The second shot was on goal, but Long was able to encompass the ball and hold onto it to prevent further chances.
