Box Score (BRIDGEWATER, Va.) – The Randolph-Macon field hockey team secured its first win of the season with a shutout of Bridgewater on the road Tuesday. The Jackets were able to score early to take the lead and staved off any offense by the Eagles.

How It Happened
- It didn't take long for the Yellow Jackets to get on the board as they scored just 2:33 into the contest. Mary Dodd (Sr., Alexandria, Va. / W.T. Woodson) provided the go-ahead shot on an assist from Maddie McCoy (Sr., Fredericksburg, Va. / Stafford).
- The Jackets had another strong opportunity late in the second quarter as Austyn Faries (Sr., Richmond, Va. / Monacan) took a just outside the goal, but the Eagles' Brooke Hamm was able to make the save at almost point blank range. A few moments later R-MC had five corners just before the end of the half, but was unable to take a shot.
- The third quarter became the Teresita Show as Maria-Teresa Ambrogi-Torres (Sr., Richmond, Va. / Trinity Episcopal) scored a pair of goals. The first came at the 38:09 mark on an assist from Catherine Magill (So., Moseley, Va. / Trinity Episcopal) while the second came four minutes later just before the end of the frame.
- Bridewater was able to turn up the pressure in the third quarter, but Gatlin Snyder (Jr., / Powhatan, Va. / Powhatan) turned away all three shots on goal during the period. She finished with six in the game and shared the shutout with Kelsey Seiler (Fr., Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian) who relieved her with 2:25 left in the contest.
- The cherry on top came just before the end of the game as McCoy put one past the keeper. Megan Harrah (Sr., Yorktown, Va. / Grafton) assisted on the goal with 3:33 left in regulation.
Inside The Numbers
- Randolph-Macon outshot the hosts 16-9 overall and 11-6 in attempts on target.
- Corners were dominated by the Jackets by a 12-5 advantage. The aforementioned five gave assisted with that as it helped give R-MC seven in the second.
- It's the Jackets' third consecutive victory over the Eagles. The last time R-MC visited Bridgewater also resulted in a Yellow Jacket shutout of the Eagles.
