(ASHLAND, Va.) – It was a tough senior night for Randolph-Macon field hockey as they were shutout by Lynchburg on Friday night. The Yellow Jackets were limited in offensive opportunities as the Hornets controlled possession for the majority of the contest.

Score: Lynchburg 6, Randolph-Macon 0

Records: R-MC 0-3, 0-3 ODAC; Lynchburg 4-0, 4-0 ODAC

How It Happened:

• The visitors controlled the ball from the start and it didn't take long for the Hornets to find the back of the goal as Jackie Lerro scored off the upper right post 2:07 into the contest.
• The Yellow Jackets did well to stop the Lynchburg attack for a while with a couple of saves, but the Hornets were able to add another pair of goals in the frame.
• Randolph-Macon's best play came in the third quarter as it limited Lynchburg to six shots. Gatlin Snyder (Jr., Powhatan, Va. / Powhatan) made four saves during that time as the Hornets were shutout in the period.
• It appeared that the score would end 3-0, but Lynchburg tallied three late goals in the final six minutes.

Inside The Numbers:

• Snyder came up with 20 saves overall and faced 41 shots on the night.
• Four saves came from other members of the defense. Three were from Claire Magill (Sr., Moseley, Va. / Trinity Episcopal) with the other from Megan Harrah (Sr., Yorktown, Va. / Grafton)
