How it Happened:
- After a pair of early shots by the Hornets, junior Nicole Czyzewski (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) had the first shot for the Yellow Jackets in the eighth minute that went wide. Sophomore Olivia Adams (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) also had a wide shot a minute later. Senior Meghan Skevington Richmond, Va./Deep Run) had a shot on goal in the 12th minute for R-MC. Sophomore Leah Conrad (Bristow, Va./St. John Paul The Great) had a shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the match remained scoreless. The Yellow Jackets would have just one shot over the final 30 minutes of the half [senior Casey Kent (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) in the 30th minute] as neither team scored in the first period.
- R-MC had a pair of shots in the first nine minutes of the second half (Conrad & Czyzewski). Lynchburg broke through with a goal in the 66th minute to give the home team a 1-0 edge. The Yellow Jackets would not have a shot the rest of the way in the 1-0 setback.
