How It Happened
- Randolph-Macon opened up the first game firing on all cylinders. After the Hornets cut an early deficit to 7-5, the Yellow Jackets steamrolled through the rest of the game and scored 18 of the last 20 points. During that stretch, the Jackets totaled 10 kills and also went on a 10-0 run. Madison Warlick (Sr., Charlottesville, Va. / Albemarle) celebrated Senior Night in style and opened up with six kills in the frame to lead the offense.
- The second set proved to be the most competitive. Lynchburg saw its only lead of more than one point during this time and led 12-9 before the Jackets stormed back and took the lead for good with five of the next seven points. A Grace Parker (Jr., Andover, N.J. / Pope John XXIII) kill sparked a 7-0 during that time that tied the set at 14-all and then gave RMC the lead for good. Parker added two more kills in the rally which included a pair from Danielle LaRosa (Sr., Charlottesville, Va. / Albemarle).
- The Jackets closed out the evening by opening the third set with the first four points and never looking back. Another long 7-0 rally near the end put the score at 24-8 before Parker closed out the match with one final kill.
