Box Score 2 (ATLANTA) – The Randolph-Macon women's volleyball split the final day of the regular season with a loss to Birmingham-Southern and a victory over Hendrix in the Emory National Invitational. The Yellow Jackets will now move on to the postseason where they will host an ODAC quarterfinal match on Wednesday.

How It Happened (Match 1 vs. Birmingham Southern)
- The Lemon and Black made it 5-4 in favor of the Panthers after a Danielle LaRossa (Sr., Charlottesville, Va. / Albemarle) kill, but Birmingham Southern went on a 6-0 run to take control of the set. RMC couldn't get back on track as the Panthers extended their lead.
- The second set appeared to be going in a similar manor, but the Jackets remained close and made it 18-14 Panthers after they blocked a BSC attempt. Unfortunately for the Jackets the Panthers closed the set on a 7-1 rally.
- BSC jumped out to an 8-2 lead and forced RMC to play catchup the rest of the way. The Jackets came within three on a few occasions but couldn't get closer than that.
Inside The Numbers (Match 1 vs. Birmingham Southern)
- LaRosa and Grace Parker (Jr., Andover, N.J. / Pope John XXIII) led the team with eight kills. Parker also made three blocks in the contest.
How It Happened (Match 2)
- The Yellow Jackets got off to a hot start in the second match and jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the opening set. The Warriors kept battling and cut the deficit to three on a few occasions, including 23-20 after four consecutive points, but the Lemon and Black closed out the set with the final two points.
- The second set was evenly split at 11-all through the first 22 points before RMC took the lead for good on a 5-1 rally sparked by a Parker kill and an ace from Mia Zazzero (Fr., Tampa, Fla. / Holy Names). Hendrix got back to within two at 16-14, but the Jackets were too strong down the stretch and secured the win with seven of the last nine points.
- The third was another even game in the initial stages. Tied at 11-all once again, the Jackets scored the next four to again take the lead for good. After that short run, neither team could string together more than two points the rest of the way.
Inside The Numbers (Match 2 vs. Hendrix)
- LaRosa led the attack with 11 kills on 19 attempts for a hitting percentage of .421. She added three blocks.
- Macguire Gubba (Sr., Grove City, Pa. / Grove City) set up the offense with 29 assists.
- Leslie Currie (So., Mechanicsville, Va. / Hanover) led the defense on the receiving end with 14 digs.
All-Tournament Team
For her efforts, LaRosa was named to the all-tournament team. She finished the event with 33 kills for an average of 11 per match. She added eight blocks defensively.

The Jackets now focus on the postseason and will host Roanoke on Wednesday.
