Box Score VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Sophomore Olivia Owens (Salisbury, Md./James M. Bennett) netted the equalizer in the 64th minute, but Virginia Wesleyan scored 26 seconds into the second overtime period to edge the Randolph-Macon women's soccer team 3-2 on Wednesday evening.

How it Happened:
- The Marlins had the first four shots of the match and registered the game's first goal in the seventh minute. Senior Maddie Bauman (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield) answered with the tying goal in the 13th minute on the first shot of the contest for the Yellow Jackets. Owens had a shot on goal three minutes later but was saved. VWU kept the pressure on and took the lead in the 36th minute for a 2-1 edge. The Marlins had four more shots in the half, and junior Nicole Mills (Colonial Heights, Va./Colonial Heights) recorded a shot in the 43rd minute as it sat 2-1 at intermission. VWU had a 14-4 advantage in shots. Sophomore Abby Cook (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) had four saves in the first half for the Yellow Jackets.
 
- Bauman had an early shot and junior Gracie Tritt (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) had a shot on goal in the 57th minute. Freshman Lora Bertram (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) had a shot on goal in the 62nd minute and senior Jules Heuchan (Tallahassee, Fla./Maclay) had a shot off the crossbar in the 64th minute which was followed by Owens for the tying goal. Freshman Grace Turney (Dayton, Md./River Hill) had a shot on goal three minutes later that was saved. VWU had seven shots over the final 23 minutes, including one in front of the net with 15 seconds left that went high, forcing overtime.
 
- After the Marlins had the first two shots of the first overtime period, Bertram delivered a shot on goal in the 96th minute. After two shots on goal by VWU, freshman Riley Russ (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) had a shot that went wide left in the 100th minute.
 
- VWU would score 26 seconds into the second overtime period to snag the victory.

- The Marlins had a 34-13 advantage on shots. Bauman, Owens and Bertram each had two shots for the Yellow Jackets.
