How it Happened:
- The Yellow Jackets had the first two shots of the match, by freshman Sammie Hoefs (New Market, Md./Linganore) in the seventh minute and freshman Lora Bertram (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) in the 13th minute. After sophomore Abby Cook (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) recorded a save in the 18th minute, junior Gracie Tritt (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) had a shot on goal for R-MC in the 25th minute. Cook had a second save in the 30th minute before sophomore Olivia Owens (Salisbury, Md./James M. Bennett), the reigning ODAC Player of the Week, and Bertram both delivered shots on goal. Cook added a third save in the 40th minute as the first half ended in a scoreless tie. R-MC had an 8-6 advantage in shots, while both teams had three shots on goal. Bertram paced the Yellow Jackets with three shots.
- Bertram had an early shot and Owens delivered a high shot that hit the crossbar before the Eagles scored in the 57th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Freshman Riley Russ (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) had a shot in the 72nd minute, sophomore Charlotte Bradshaw (Boydton, Va./Bluestone) added one in the 80th minute and Bertram had the final shot for the home team in the 86th minute as BC held on for the 1-0 win.
