How It Happened
- Randolph-Macon led throughout the opening frame, but started to create some separation when four consecutive points made the score 11-6 after two-straight aces by Grace Parker (Jr., Andover, N.J. / Pope John XXIII). After EMU scored the next two, the Lemon and Black took five of the next six on a run capped by a kill from Parker.
- Parker was on fire in the first set as she opened the evening with seven of her 10 kills and hit .429 in the frame. Her final three came during a 6-1 run that put the Jackets up by double-digits at 22-12.
- The second set was closer for the first half as the two teams were knotted at 14-all. After that it was literally all Randolph-Macon as it closed out the set with 11 consecutive points to go up 2-0. Kills by Gracyn Draney (Jr., Forest, Va. / Jefferson Forest) and Parker sparked the run, while Danielle LaRosa (Sr., Charlottesville, Va. / Albemarle) made her presence known up front with four blocks over that stretch, two of which were paired with Parker.
- Eastern Mennonite kept within three for most of the third until RMC went on a 6-0 and take control of the set by a 23-14 margin. Kills by Madison Warlick (Sr., Charlottesville, Va. / Albemarle) and Sydney Koch (Sr., Raleigh, Va. / Sanderson) along with a block by Koch and Macguire Gubba (Sr., Grove City, Pa. / Grove City) aided the run.
