Box Score ASHLAND, Va. - Freshman Claire Magill (Moseley, Va./Trinity) recorded a pair of assists as the Randolph-Macon field hockey team dropped a 3-2 decision to Bridgewater in ODAC action Saturday afternoon on Day Field.
The Eagles (4-7, 1-1 ODAC) scored the first two goals of the game, one in the 13th minute and the second in the 21st minute. The Yellow Jackets (4-5, 1-1 ODAC) responded with five minutes left in the first half as Magill fed freshman Ayanna Healy (Newport News, Va./Woodside), who finished on the right side to make it a 2-1 game at intermission.
R-MC netted the equalizer nine minutes into the second half as freshman Kathleen Tanner (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend) put in a rebounded shot to level the score at 2-2.
BC would break the deadlock in the 43rd minute on a penalty corner as the Eagles pulled out a 3-2 victory.
The Eagles held a 21-6 advantage in shots, including 13-3 in the first half. Freshman Maria Teresa Ambrogi-Torres led the Yellow Jackets with three shots.
Senior Kelsey Stanley (Bumpass, Va./Louisa County) recorded nine saves in the game, with five in the first half and four in the second.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Wednesday, October 4 with a 7 p.m. ODAC contest at Shenandoah.
