Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Randolph-Macon faced stiff competition in #17 Mary Washington and came away on the losing side 8-0. R-MC is now 4-4 on the season.
Mary Washington got early goals in the 4th and 5th minutes before scoring again in the 20th and 27th minutes in the first half.
Randolph-Macon's only shot of the game came in half one when senior Victoria Cappadora (Manchester, Md. / Manchester Valley) tried to put one in for R-MC. It did not land on goal.
Mary Washington scored again in the 43rd, 59th and 65th minutes before taking a final goal with about a minute to goal in the game. Mary Washington had the penalty corner advantage 10-0.
Senior goalie Kelsey Stanley (Bumpass, Va. / Louisa County) saved 13 shots on goal in her 65 minutes of work. Sophomore Ariel Salerno (Suffolk, Va. / Lakeland) got about five minutes of work and had two saves.
The Yellow Jackets now play against Bridgewater at Day Field on Saturday at 5:00 PM as part of Family Weekend festivities.
