WINCHESTER, Va. – Randolph-Macon struck first, but Shenandoah found a tying and then game-winning goal in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match in Winchester Wednesday night. R-MC fell to 4-6 and 1-2 in the ODAC.

Freshman Maria Teresa Ambrogi-Torres (Richmond, Va. / Trinity Episcopal School) struck early in the second half, scoring the goal unassisted in what was the first goal of the game for either team. It was Ambrogi-Torres' second goal of the season. It was the only shot she took in the match.

But Shenandoah found the equalizer with about ten minutes to go in the match. The Hornets found the golden goal just over three and a half minutes into overtime.

Senior Victoria Cappadora (Richmond, Va. / Trinity Episcopal School) led the team in shot. She tried two shots, both on goal. R-MC totaled five shots, with four of them coming on goal. Freshman Erin Barringer (Catonsville, Md./Indian Creek Upper School) had a shot as did freshman Elizabeth Jacobs (Laurel, Md./Atholton).

Senior goalkeeper Kelsey Stanley (Bumpass, Va./Louisa County) had ten shots taken against her and saved eight of them in 73 minutes of work. Shenandoah held a 12-4 advantage in penalty corners.

Randolph-Macon had a great night in terms of team discipline. The team only committed just 29 fouls compared to Shenandoah's 63.

Randolph-Macon stays on the road for its next match. It will play at Washington & Lee in Lexington on Saturday at 2:00 PM. The team returns home a week from tonight against Sweet Briar at 4:00 PM. The match will be played at the R-MC Field Hockey field.
