Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. – The Randolph-Macon volleyball team fell to St. Mary's 3-2 in the opening game of the Washington & Lee Invitational in Lexington.
Junior Erin Quinn (Morrisville, N.C./ Cardinal Gibbons) had a season best 53 assists for the Yellow Jackets. She also had 14 digs and two kills in the match.
The Yellow Jackets won the first set 25-19 hammering home 13 kills. St. Mary's would respond by taking the second and third sets.
R-MC then dominated the fourth set 25-14, with 18 kills, to send the game to a fifth set. St. Mary's would go on to win the match in the fifth set 15-9.
Freshman Miranda Hall (Mechanicsville, Va./ Hanover) led the team in kills with 21, while also recording 11 digs.
Randolph-Macon had a total of 58 kills in the match. Junior Rebecca McGilvery (Warrenton, Va./ Kettle Run) was tied second on the team for kills with 13, while also getting 11 digs in the match. Sophomore Mariah Clark (Stuarts Draft, Va./ Rivershead) also tied for second in kills with 13.
The Yellow Jackets will be back on the court tonight when they face Southern Virginia at 7:30 in their second game in the Washington & Lee Invitational.
