Box Score WINCHESTER, Va. – The R-MC volleyball team improved to 5-0 in the ODAC with a 3-0 win over Shenandoah on Tuesday night. After being named the ODAC player of the week, sophomore Mariah Clark (Stuarts Draft, Va./ Riverheads) led the team in kills (10) and points (11). Clark also dug 10 balls, which was second best for the Yellow Jackets.
Randolph-Macon won the first set by a score of 25-11, which ended with a 10-0 run by the Yellow Jackets as the score was 15-11. R-MC continued with a 25-14 second set win, ending the set on another run, with seven consecutive points.
In the third set, R-MC and Shenandoah traded leads throughout the game. The Yellow Jackets fought off set point at 24-23 and would go on to win three consecutive points to win the match.
Junior Rebecca McGilvery (Warrenton, Va./ Kettle Run) was a major contributor on the night for the Yellow Jackets as she smacked seven kills and added seven digs.
Junior Erin Quinn (Morrisville, N.C./ Cardinal Gibbons) led the team in assists with 30, she contributed to the defense as well, grabbing nine digs.
R-MC will be back on the court on Thursday, September 29 when it travels to play St. Mary's at 7:00 p.m.
