SALEM, Va. – Senior Lindsay Zachman (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) recorded seven saves in the second half and a pair of overtime periods at the Randolph-Macon women's soccer team battled to a scoreless tie at Roanoke in a non-conference contest.

The Maroons (1-3-2) had a 6-2 advantage in shots in the first half. Freshman Christina Newman (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville) started in goal for the Yellow Jackets (1-3-2) and stopped both shots on goal.

RC had a dominating 12-1 margin on shots in the second half. Zachman had five saves in the second stanza and one in each overtime period.

R-MC did hold a 3-1 edge in shots in the second overtime period. Sophomore Mary Virginia Kelley (Midlothian, Va./James River) had a shot on goal four minutes into the period. Junior Courtney Taylor (Prince George, Va./Prince George) had a shot on goal six minutes into the second overtime. Junior Kasey Martino (Centreville, Va./Centreville) had a shot go wide with less than three minutes left in the final OT period.

Randolph-Macon heads to Lynchburg on Saturday, Sept. 24 for a 1 p.m. ODAC contest.
