FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Senior Lindsay Zachman (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) snared five saves as the Randolph-Macon women's soccer team was nipped 1-0 Wednesday evening at Mary Washington.

The Eagles (3-2-1) scored on their first shot on goal of the match in the sixth minute.

Zachman had a pair of saves in the first period and three in the second half.

Both teams had eight shots in the match. Freshman Gabby Nelson (Clover, Va./Halifax County) paced the Yellow Jackets (1-3-1) with four shots, while senior Alivia Thorn (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover), junior Kasey Martino (Centreville, Va./Centreville), junior Sofie Rodriguez (Arlington, Va./Washington-Lee) and sophomore TaylorAnne Barry (Earlysville, Va./St. Anne's Belfield) each had a shot on goal for R-MC.

Randolph-Macon begins ODAC play on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 3:30 p.m. at Roanoke.
