Box Score HARRISONBURG, Va. - Senior Hannah Livermon (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan) hit four three-pointers and scored 22 points as the Randolph-Macon women's basketball team dropped a 76-61 decision at Eastern Mennonite Tuesday evening in ODAC action.
Senior Katie Anderson (Beaverdam, Va./Patrick Henry) tallied 14 points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Yellow Jackets (12-12, 7-8 ODAC).
Livermon and senior Khajae Hester (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry) both hit three-pointers as R-MC jumped out to an 8-2 lead. A jumper by sophomore Kareema Conteh (Riverdale, Md./Parkdale) with 3:20 left in the opening period gave the Yellow Jackets a 14-6 lead. The Royals (17-6, 10-5 ODAC) would close the quarter on a 16-6 run to lead 22-20 after one.
EMU started the second period on an 11-3 spurt, making the run 27-9 over two quarters, as the home team took a 33-23 advantage. An Anderson layup capped an 11-4 run as R-MC trailed 37-34 at intermission.
A pair of free throws by Anderson with 6:30 left in the third quarter pulled the Yellow Jackets within one at 39-38. EMU used a 14-2 run to take a 53-40 lead with just under two minutes left in the third period. Livermon and Conteh made buckets as R-MC pulled within nine at 53-44 after three.
A three-point play by Hester with 8:12 left in the fourth quarter made it a five-point game at 55-50. The Royals had a 12-4 spurt to push the lead to 13 at 67-54 with 4:25 remaining. The advantage grew to as much as 16 (74-58) before EMU posted a 76-61 win.
Hester finished with eight points, while Conteh added six off the bench for the Yellow Jackets.
Randolph-Macon concludes the regular season with Senior Day on Saturday, Feb. 20, with a 4:30 p.m. ODAC contest against Emory & Henry.
