As a junior (2014-15): Anderson finished her third season with 353 points (third on the team), tallying her 1,180th career point…Katie started in all 25 games, averaging 14.1 points and 11.4 rebounds per game…She led the team and the ODAC in rebounds with 285…Anderson had a season-high 28 points against Lynchburg, where she also added 12 rebounds. (1/31)…Anderson recorded 14 double-doubles throughout the season…Katie was named First Team All-ODAC, Richmond Times Dispatch All-State Team, Honorable Mention All-America by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, and Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) College Division All-State First Team...Katie received ODAC Player of the Week honors twice.
As a sophomore (2013-14): Anderson completed the year having started all 29 games, recording 461 points (15.9 ppg), 279 rebounds, shooting .521 from the field, .429 behind the arch, and .689 from the stripe...She also tallied 15 blocks, 39 steals, and 38 assists...During the postseason she averaged 17.3 points per contest while a shooting .522 FG% and a .826 FT%...Following the Jackets’ Conference Championship, she was named to the All-Tournament team and took home the weekend’s Most Valuable Player award...Anderson has also been named Richmond Times Dispatch Second-Team All-State and Honorable Mention All-American by both the Womens’ Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and DIII News.
As a freshman (2012-13): Katie notched her first double-double of 25 points and 12 boards against Mary Washington in the R-MC Tip-Off Classic and was named to the All Tournament Team ... Against Lynchburg (11/27/12), Hollins (12/1/12) and Randolph (12/4/12) she recorded 20+ points.
Personal: Katie attended Patrick Henry High School where she earned four varsity letters in basketball ... She helped lead her basketball team to two District Championship titles in 2011 and 2012 ... Katie was awarded All Academic honors her freshman-senior years ... As a freshman, she was awarded Honorable Mention All District ... As a sophomore she earned Second Team All District and as a junior she earned First Team All District, Second Team All Region and Second Team All Metro ... Her senior season she was awarded First Team All District, District Player of the Year, First Team All Region, First Team All Metro, and Honorable Mention All State ... She scored 1,000 points her junior season and finshed her career with 1,509 points ... Katie was also Vice-President of Varsity Club ... She intends to pursue a degree in Biology.
