Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Junior Daniel Noe (Fairfax, Va./Bishop Ireton) scored 22 points off the bench as the Randolph-Macon men's basketball team suffered a 73-64 loss to Albright on Day 2 of the Hoopsville National Invitational Classic Saturday afternoon at Stevenson University.
The Yellow Jackets (0-3) went scoreless for the first 6:40 of the contest. A layup by Noe made it a 7-2 game. The Lions (2-1) led 11-4 before R-MC scored seven straight to level the score at 11-11 midway through the first half. Freshman Korey Turner (Midlothian, Va./Amelia Academy) made a free throw with 6:27 left in the period to give the Yellow Jackets their first lead at 20-19. Albright finished the half on a 15-8 run to lead 34-28 at the break.
R-MC cut the lead to three at 37-34 three minutes into the second half. The Lions scored seven straight to push the lead to 10 at 44-34 with 14 minutes remaining. The margin spiked to 15 at 56-41 before a 16-7 spurt cut the deficit to six at 63-57 with 2:42 left. Albright went 10 for 10 from the free throw line in the final 2:30 to secure the 73-64 win.
Senior Michael Taylor (Apex, N.C./Grace Christian) had 14 points for the Yellow Jackets.
Senior Boris Ngundji (Richmond, Va./Fuqua) had five rebounds for R-MC.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 27 at 2 p.m. at Ferrum.
