R-MC Volleyball Finish ODAC Season 11-0 with 3-0 Victory

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Randolph-Macon volleyball team won its final ODAC regular season game 3-0 over Randolph on Tuesday night. With that victory, the Yellow Jackets finish the season unbeaten in ODAC play with an 11-0 record and claim the regular season title.

Sophomore outside hitter Mariah Clark (Stuarts Draft, Va./ Riverheads), who was third in the ODAC in kills per set, led the team in kills once again. She finished the game with 16 kills and a .333 kill percentage. Clark picked up two assists, 10 digs and one block as well.

R-MC won the first set by a score of 25-19. R-MC took the lead early but had to fight after the WildCats stormed back.

The WildCats took an early 3-1 lead in the second set and continued to trade leads with the Yellow Jackets throughout the set. With the score tied at 23, junior Samantha Sallade (Newport News, Va./ Peninsula Catholic finished the set back to back service aces.

The third and final set saw the Yellow Jackets have more control over, despite going down early. With the score at 3-3, R-MC would go on to win the next the next 10 out of 11 points. R-MC would go on to win the third set 25-15.

Junior Erin Quinn (Morrisville, N.C./ Cardinal Gibbons) added 41 assists to her impressive tally for the season. She now has 895 assists for the season. Quinn also was tied for second on the team with 10 digs.

Freshman Miranda Hall (Mechanicsville, Va./ Hanover) had an outstanding night hitting as well. She crushed 14 kills on 25 attempts for a .520 hitting percentage. Hall also registered one solo block.

Sallade finished the game with four service aces, a team high 14 digs, one kill and two assists.

Randolph-Macon will be the number one seed in the ODAC tournament. R-MC will play host to the #8 seed, on Wednesday, November 2nd. The winner will advance to semi-finals on Friday. The ODAC Championship game will be played on Saturday, November 5.

R-MC finishes out its season this weekend when it travels to the Emory Tournament to take on Clarkson, Susquehanna, Berry and hosts, Emory.
