Box Score ROANOKE, Va. - Freshman Hannah Harris (Gloucester, Va./Gloucester) had a goal and three assists as the Randolph-Macon women's soccer team posted a 9-0 ODAC victory at Hollins Saturday afternoon.
Freshman Gabby Nelson (Clover, Va./Halifax County) netted the first two goals for the Yellow Jackets, with assists from junior Courtney Taylor (Prince George, Va./Prince George) and senior goalkeeper Lindsay Zachman (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll). Harris hit the third goal in the 26th minute with the assist from senior Ellie Linkous (Charlottesville, Va./Montecello). Harris had the final two assists in the first half off of corner kicks as freshman Keavy Baylor (Smithfield, Va./Hampton Roads Academy) scored in the 34th minute and junior Brooke Weiss (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) found the back of the net with one second left in the half as R-MC took a 5-0 advantage at intermission.
Senior Courtney Zehnter (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) scored in the 57th minute off an indirect kick by senior Alivia Thorn (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) to push the lead to 6-0. Senior Lauren Orga (Hayes, Va./Gloucester) beat the keeper on a pass from junior Madeline Jackson (Chesapeake, Va./Grassfield) in the 65th minute to make it 7-0. Harris had her third assist on a goal by Thorn in the 75th minute and senior Morgan Gray (Aldie, Va./Freedom) scores on a saved shot by Linkous in the 79th minute to complete the scoring.
The Yellow Jackets held a 47-3 advantage in shots, including 29-1 in shots on goal. Thorn paced the victors with 10 shots, including five on goal.
Zachman and sophomore Tanya Bopp (Remington, Va./Highland) combined on the shutout. Zachman had one save in the first half for the Yellow Jackets.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 16, with a rescheduled home ODAC contest against Bridgewater. The match will be played on Day Field at 4:30 p.m.
