Box Score BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The R-MC field hockey team fell to Bridgewater 2-0 with two goals on either side of the half. R-MC are now 1-7 on the season and 0-2 in ODAC play, Bridgewater improve to 5-3 and 2-1 in the ODAC.
Junior goalkeeper Kelsey Stanley (Bumpass, Va./ Louisa County) made 15 saves on the night. Heading into the game, Stanley was second in the ODAC in saves with 79.
Bridgewater would finally breakdown the R-MC defense twenty minutes into the game, through a penalty corner converted in by Emily Matisons. It would then double its lead late in the second half again through Matisons.
Junior Sara Sprinkel (Timonium, Md./ Dulaney) and freshman Lauren Petty (Gloucester, Va./ Gloucester each recorded one shot on target in the match.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action with two home games as they host W & L on Wednesday, October 5 at 7:30 p.m. and Shenandoah on Friday, October 7 at 7:00 p.m., to kick off Family Weekend.
