RALEIGH, N.C. - Junior Tom Lewis (Charlottesville, Va./Western Albemarle) did not lose a game as the Randolph-Macon men's tennis team blanked William Peace on Sunday afternoon.
Lewis won 6-0, 6-0 a No. 6 singles and teamed with sophomore Alex Curnow (Culpeper, Va./Midlothian) to win 8-0 at No. 3 doubles. Curnow was victorious at No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-1.
Senior Ira Usry (Columbia, S.C./Hammond) won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles and joined senior Ryan Byrd (Toano, Va./Warhill) to take No. 1 doubles 8-3. Byrd posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles.
Junior John Adam (Vienna, Va./James Madison) recorded a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles and combined with senior Connor Hoerr (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) to register an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles. Hoerr won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
The Yellow Jackets (3-3) return to action on Tuesday, March 24 at 3 p.m. at Frostburg State.
