ASHLAND, Va.—Senior Sarah Parsons (Glen Allen, VA / J.R. Tucker) recorded 21 points and six assists as the Randolph-Macon Women's Basketball team topped Shenandoah 79-44 in ODAC action Wednesday evening.

Sophomore Marisha Berry (Powhatan, VA / Powhatan) added 14 points for the Yellow Jackets (19-4, 12-3 ODAC).

The Hornets (7-17, 3-12 ODAC) opened the game on a 4-0 run to hold their only lead of the game before the Yellow Jackets tied the score 6-6 at 16:54. R-MC went on a 14-0 run over the next six minutes to hold a 20-8 advantage with 10:33 left until halftime. The Hornets cut the Yellow Jacket's lead to eight points at 7:09. Junior Katie Anderson (Beaverdam, VA / Patrick Henry) knocked down a pair free throws at 6:09 to stretch R-MC's advantage to 13 points. The Hornets would cut R-MC's lead to seven points before the Yellow Jackets finished the half with an 8-2 run to take a 35-22 lead at the break.

The Yellow Jackets stretched their advantage in the second half with a 25-4 run capped by a layup from sophomore Stephanie Staples (Mechanicsville, VA / Atlee) to hold a 60-26 lead with 10:51 remaining in the game. The Yellow Jackets traded baskets with the Hornets for the next seven minutes with a 13-10 run capped by a three-pointer from Berry to give R-MC a 37-point advantage at 3:37. Sophomore Taylor Intermill (Fairfax, VA / Fairfax) knocked down a three-pointer at 0:55 and allowed the Yellow Jackets to claim a 79-44 victory.

Junior Hannah Livermon (Powhatan, VA / Powhatan) tallied 12 points and seven rebounds and junior Katie Anderson (Beaverdam, VA / Patrick Henry) recorded eight points and 10 rebounds for R-MC.

The Yellow Jackets outscored the Hornets 38-2 from the bench. Junior Lauren Vugteveen (Midlothian, VA / Amelia Academy) and freshman Amber Lee (Rockville, VA /Patrick Henry) both tallied six points and five rebounds while Staples and Intermill added six points for R-MC.

The Yellow Jackets return to Crenshaw for Senior Day on Saturday February 21 at 2pm against Bridgewater for their last ODAC game of the regular season.
