ASHLAND, Va. – Senior Hannah Livermon (Powhatan, Va. / Powhatan) recorded 22 points, six rebounds and two steals on her 22nd birthday as the Randolph-Macon women's basketball team defeated Roanoke 78-57 in ODAC action Tuesday evening.

Senior Katie Anderson (Beaverdam, Va. / Patrick Henry) recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Senior Khajae Hester (Virginia Beach, Va. / Cape Henry Collegiate) rounded out the R-MC players with double-digit points with 13 points, four rebounds and eight assists.

Randolph-Macon (5-2, 2-0 ODAC) jumped out to an early 10-0 lead to begin the first quarter, which they held for the entire game. Livermon tallied two layups and a three-pointer and Hester also nailed a trey during the run to give the Yellow Jackets a double-digit lead with 7:46 remaining. The Yellow Jackets increased their lead with a 6-2 spurt to hold a 16-2 advantage. The Maroons (1-5, 1-1 ODAC) used a 4-0 spurt to bring the score to 18-6 but Livermon shut down the run with a three-pointer to extend R-MC's lead back to 15 points. Roanoke used an 8-0 spurt to cut R-MC's lead to single-digits, 21-14, with 1:29 to play. The Yellow Jackets maintained a 23-16 advantage at the end of the quarter.

A three-pointer by junior Taylor Intermill (Fairfax, Va. / Fairfax) to start the second quarter extended the lead back to double-digits. Intermill found Anderson for a layup with 6:26 remaining until the break to put the Yellow Jackets ahead by 13 points, 34-21. The Maroons responded with an 11-1 spurt to put Roanoke within three-points, 35-32 with 2:27 to play until halftime. A quick 7-0 run, capped by a three-pointer from freshman Jayla Wade (Newport News, Va. / Heritage), put R-MC ahead by 10 points, 42-32, at halftime.

Livermon recorded 15 points in the first half. Anderson tallied five points and six rebounds and Hester registered nine points and two rebounds.

The Yellow Jackets held the Maroons to just eight points in the third quarter. R-MC used a 15-2 run to extend its lead to 57-34 with 4:13 remaining and held a 61-40 advantage at the end of the third quarter.

R-MC recorded a 6-2 run to start the fourth quarter to hold its largest lead of the game, 67-42 with 7:23 to play. The Maroons tried to cut their deficit but were unable to come up with a large run in the fourth quarter, only reducing R-MC's lead to as low as 21 points. After Roanoke cut the Yellow Jackets' advantage to 23 points, sophomore Teal Reynolds (Sterling, Va. / Potomac Falls) tallied a layup to put R-MC ahead 75-50 with 4:44 to play. The Maroons used a 7-3 spurt to pull within 21 points as R-MC claimed the game, 78-57, to improve to 2-0 in conference play.

Intermill is ranked second in the nation with an Assist Turnover Ratio of 7.00 through games played on Nov. 29. Entering tonight's contest, Intermill had recorded 21 assists and three turnovers in 2015-16. She added six assists with zero turnovers to her ratio tonight, increasing her ratio to 9.00.

Vugteveen led the team with six blocks.

The Yellow Jackets will break for fall semester exams before returning to action in Puerto Rico. R-MC will face Mary Washington on Thursday, Dec. 17 at 11 a.m. and Hartwick on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 10 a.m.
