ASHLAND, Va. – Senior Kali Carroll (Earlysville, Va. / Albemarle) scored off a pass from senior Mackenzie Turner (Virginia Beach, Va. / Tallwood) in the 62nd minute as the Randolph-Macon field hockey team dropped a 3-1 ODAC decision to Bridgewater Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles (4-7, 2-1 ODAC) scored two goals early in the first period to hold a 2-0 advantage over the Yellow Jackets (7-4, 1-2 ODAC) at halftime. Bridgewater added another goal in the 54th minute. Turner found Carroll in the 62nd minute to put R-MC on the scoreboard.

Bridgewater held a 14-1 advantage in shots at the break but R-MC kept the pressure up and registered 13 shots in the second period.

Junior Kaitee Nicholas (Virginia Beach, Va. / Tallwood) led the Yellow Jackets with four shots and Turner added two shots.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kelsey Stanley (Bumpass, Va. / Louisa County) recorded eight saves, four in each period. Turner registered a defensive save in the 45th minute.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on the road on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 5 p.m. for an ODAC contest against Virginia Wesleyan.
