FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Junior Riley Martin (Crozet, Va./Western Albemarle) recorded 31 saves as Randolph-Macon dropped a close five-game match to No. 11 Eastern Saturday evening in its final match of the Mary Washington Invitational.

The Yellow Jackets (4-4) took the opening game 26-24 before Eastern won Game 2 25-20 and Game 3 25-22. R-MC evened the match with a 25-22 victory in Game 4 before Eastern ended with a 15-12 win in the final game.

Junior Courtney Lowers (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond River) tallied 70 total attacks, 23 kills and 10 digs Freshman Samantha Sallade (Newport News, Va./Peninsula Catholic) paced the Yellow Jackets with 25 digs. Junior Katie Rossberg (Crozet, Va./Western Albemarle) registered 17 kills. Senior Bailey Troia (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) had 15 assists, her fourth straight match with at least 15 assists.

The Yellow Jackets return to Crenshaw Gymnasium on Wednesday, Sept. 10, for a 7 p.m. contest against Division II Virginia State.
