FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Junior Courtney Lowers (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond River) had 56 total attacks and 24 kills as Randolph-Macon pulled out a four-game victory over Averett in the Mary Washington Invitational.

The Cougars took the opener 28-26 before the Yellow Jackets (4-2) responded with wins of 25-16, 25-22 and 25-18.

Senior Bailey Troia (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) recorded 25 assists and freshman Erin Quinn (Morrisville, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons) added 22 assists.

Freshman Samantha Sallade (Newport News, Va./Peninsula Catholic) paced the Yellow Jackets with 26 digs.

R-MC will face a pair of nationally-ranked opponents on Saturday on the second day of the Mary Washington Invitational. The Yellow Jackets meet Christopher Newport at 2:00 p.m. and Eastern at 6:00 p.m.
