LYNCHBURG, Va. – Junior Riley Martin (Crozet, Va./Western Albemarle) led all players with 20 assists as the Randolph-Macon volleyball team won at Lynchburg Wednesday in three close games.

The Yellow Jackets (11-6, 4-0 ODAC) posted a 25-21 victory in the opening game. R-MC took Game 2 25-22 and completed the sweep with a 25-20 victory in the final game.

The teams stayed within three points throughout Game 1. R-MC led 22-21 before scoring the final three points to secure the first game.

The Yellow Jackets built an 11-7 lead early in the second game and were ahead 20-15 before the Hornets (8-8, 2-2) scored three straight points to make it 20-18. R-MC led 22-20 before scoring three of the final five points to finish Game 2.

R-MC scored the first four points in Game 3 built an eight-point lead at 17-9. Lynchburg cut the margin to 23-20 before the Yellow Jackets tallied the final two points to end the match.

Senior Bailey Troia (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) recorded 14 assists for the Yellow Jackets.

Junior Courtney Lowers (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond River) paced R-MC with 13 kills and 35 total attacks. Junior Katie Rossberg (Crozet, Va./Western Albemarle) had 10 kills and 27 total attacks.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Thursday, Oct. 2 for a 7 p.m. ODAC home match against Hollins.
