Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Randolph-Macon scored six of the final seven points in the deciding fourth game in defeating Roanoke 4-1 in ODAC volleyball Wednesday evening in Crenshaw Gymnasium.
The Yellow Jackets (8-6, 1-0 ODAC) rolled 25-11 in the opening game before the Maroons (11-3, 0-1 ODAC) eked out a 27-25 win in Game 2. R-MC took the third game 25-19 before rallying for a 25-23 victory in Game 4.
Roanoke held a 22-19 advantage in the fourth game before Randolph-Macon scored five straight points to take a 24-22 lead. After the Maroons cut it to one, but a kill by junior Courtney Lowers (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond River) gave the Yellow Jackets the victory.
Lowers finished with 18 kills, 41 total attacks and 13 digs. Junior Katie Rossberg (Crozet, Va./Western Albemarle) also recorded 18 kills and had 56 total attacks for R-MC.
Freshman Erin Quinn (Morrisville, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons) registered 25 assists and seven digs, while senior Bailey Troia (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) added 16 assists.
Freshman Samantha Sallade (Newport News, Va./Peninsula Catholic) led the Yellow Jackets with 29 digs.
The Yellow Jackets return to action on Saturday, Sept. 20, with a pair of ODAC matches in Emory, Va. R-MC faces Guilford at 11:00 a.m. and Emory & Henry at 2:00 p.m.
