ASHLAND, Va. – Sophomore John Adam (Vienna, Va./James Madison) pulled out a dramatic three-set victory at No. 3 singles to snap a 4-4 tie and give the Randolph-Macon men's tennis team a 5-4 ODAC victory over Guilford Monday at the Banks Tennis Center.

The Yellow Jackets (11-6, 7-2) have won seven consecutive matches.

Adam won the first-set tie-breaker before dropping the second set 6-4. He fought back to take the third set 7-5 to secure the victory for R-MC.

Adam and freshman Brantley Stein (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy) won No. 2 doubles 8-6 for the only doubles point for the Yellow Jackets.

R-MC pulled out four singles matches. Stein won in straight sets at No. 5, as did junior Ira Usry (Columbia, S.C./Hammond) at No. 6. Junior Connor Hoerr (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) won a 7-3 tie-breaker in the third set to take No. 2 singles.

The Yellow Jackets conclude the regular season at home on Wednesday, April 16 at 4 p.m. against Bridgewater at the Banks Tennis Center.
