BUENA VISTA, Va. – Junior Connor Hoerr (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) earned victories in both singles and doubles as the Randolph-Macon men's tennis team topped Southern Virginia 5-1 Saturday morning.

Hoerr teamed with junior Ira Usry (Columbia, S.C./Hammond) to win at No. 3 doubles 8-3 over Adam Blocher and Brian Blocher. The Yellow Jackets led 2-1 after doubles as junior sophomore John Adam (Vienna, Va./James Madison) and freshman Bradley Stein (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy) posted an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles.

Hoerr also won at No. 2 singles over Dallin Evans 6-2, 6-4. Junior Ryan Byrd (Toano, Va./Warhill) took No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-2 over Pradeep Ravisankar and senior Michael Baxter (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) won at No. 3 singles 6-4, 6-2 over Cooper Brown.

The Yellow Jackets (2-1) will open ODAC play at 3 p.m. this afternoon at Washington & Lee.
