Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Senior Connor Sullivan (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Christian) scored a career-high 27 points as No. 22 Randolph-Macon outscored Cabrini 105-92 Tuesday evening in Crenshaw Gymnasium.
Sullivan went 10 for 15 from the floor, including 5 for 10 on three-pointers for the Yellow Jackets (6-2). He was 2 for 2 from the free throw line with five rebounds and two assists.
R-MC bolted to a 10-3 lead in the first three minutes and Sullivan nailed a trey with 6:22 to go in the period to give the Yellow Jackets a 23-point lead at 41-18. The Cavaliers (5-4) ended the half with a 20-6 run to trail by nine at 47-38 at intermission. Sullivan finished the half with 12 points.
Cabrini started the second stanza on a 12-2 run to take a 50-49 lead three minutes into the period. R-MC led by two at 68-66 with 11 minutes remaining before a 23-6 spurt by the Yellow Jackets put the home team up 91-72 with six minutes left. R-MC led by as many as 22 in the second half before posting the 105-92 victory.
The Yellow Jackets had five players score in double figures. Along with Sullivan, sophomore Michael Taylor (Apex, N.C./Grace Christian) also recorded a career-high with 12 points. Senior Chris Hamilton (Bellbrook, Ohio/Bellbrook) put up 13, senior Marcus Badger (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) tallied 12 and senior Joe Hassell (Portsmouth, Va./Indian River) added 11 with seven rebounds.
Senior Akeem Holmes (King William, Va./King William) came off the bench to score nine points and pull down 10 rebounds.
Reigning National Player of the Year Aaron Walton-Moss led the Cavaliers with 26 points and 12 assists.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Thursday, Dec. 18, with a 7 p.m. contest against Averett.
