Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Senior Keeley Miller (Bealeton, Va./Liberty) netted her first goal of the season as the Randolph-Macon women's soccer team dropped a 5-1 ODAC decision to Virginia Wesleyan Tuesday afternoon.
The Marlins (11-6-2, 9-3) scored three first-half goals to take a 3-0 advantage. Miller finished in the 75th minute on a pass from freshman Maegan Beck (Gloucester, Va.) to make it a 3-1 contest. After substituting throughout the half, VWC returned its 10 field players and added two goals in the final 4:07 to make it a 5-1 final.
VWC held a 21-11 advantage in shots. Senior Jen LaBarge (Gambrills, Md./South River) led the Yellow Jackets (9-7-1, 6-6) with three shots, including two on goal.
Cat Galway of Virginia Wesleyan was issued a red card for fighting in the 89th minute and must sit out the next two games for the Marlins.
Randolph-Macon will play an ODAC quarterfinal match on the road on Saturday, Nov. 1. Opponent and time are to be determined.
