Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Junior Courtney Lowers (Suffolk, Va./Nansemond River) led all players with 18 kills and 40 total attacks as the Randolph-Macon volleyball team extended its win streak to five as it won a three-game home ODAC match against Hollins Thursday evening at Crenshaw Gymnasium.
The Yellow Jackets (12-6, 5-0) took the opener 25-14 before rallying to take the middle game 27-25. R-MC finished the match with a 25-11 victory in Game 3 over Hollins (4-14, 0-4 ODAC).
R-MC nursed a 12-9 lead in Game 1 before scoring nine straight points to extend the advantage to 21-9 on its way to the 25-14 win. The Yellow Jackets trailed for most of the second game, including 23-22, before scoring five of the final seven points to eke out a 27-25 decision. Randolph-Macon had a 10-7 lead in Game 3 before a 15-4 run ended the match.
Junior Katie Rossberg (Crozet, Va./Western Albemarle) had seven kills, 20 total attacks and 13 digs for the Yellow Jackets. Junior Addie Cooper (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate) had five kills in seven attacks.
Freshman Eric Quinn (Morrisville, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons) led all players with 23 assists. Senior Bailey Troia (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) added 14 assists. Freshman Samantha Sallade (Newport News, Va./Peninsula Catholic) tied for the team lead with 13 digs.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. at Randolph.
