ASHLAND, Va. – Senior Bailey Troia (Virginia Beach, VA /Ocean Lakes) recorded 23 assists on Senior Day as Randolph-Macon swept Franklin & Marshall in three games in a non-conference volleyball match Saturday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets (16-7) won the first game 25-20 before taking the second 25-14. R-MC sealed the win with a 25-19 decision in Game 3.

Three Yellow Jackets recorded double-digit kills. Junior Courtney Lowers (Suffolk, VA / Nansemond River) tallied 15 kills and 36 total attacks, while junior Katie Rossberg (Crozet, VA / Western Albemarle) and junior Addie Cooper (Virginia Beach, VA / Cape Henry Collegiate) followed with 11 and 10 kills, respectively.

Game 1 was close, with the Diplomats (13-11) holding Randolph-Macon's lead to no more than two points before the Yellow Jackets scored the last seven points.

Game 2 started with the Diplomats opening an 8-5 lead but the Yellow Jackets responded by tying the score 11-11 and scored the next seven straight points to hold an 18-11 lead over Franklin & Marshall. The Yellow Jackets would go on to score seven of the next 10 points to take the game 25-14.

The Yellow Jackets maintained the lead in Game 3 after opening the game 3-0. The Diplomats cut the lead to two points to bring the score to 12-10 before the Yellow Jackets expanded their lead 18-13 before winning the third game 25-19.

Freshman Samantha Sallade (Newport News, VA / Peninsula Catholic) paced the Jackets with 19 digs.

The Yellow Jackets are on the road this week with two ODAC contests. The Jackets will face Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday, October 22 at 7 p.m. and Bridgewater on Friday, October 24 at 7 p.m.
