Box Score HARRISONBURG, Va. – Junior Kali Carroll (Earlysville, Va./Albemarle) snapped a 1-1 tie with a goal in the 62nd minute as the Randolph-Macon field hockey team nipped Eastern Mennonite 2-1 Saturday afternoon in ODAC action.
Following a scoreless first half, senior Carrie Jacobs (Orange, Va./Orange County) put in a rebound in the 49th minute to give R-MC a 1-0 advantage. The Royals (3-12, 2-4 ODAC) answered a minute later to even the score at 1-1.
Carroll scored from the left side later in the period to give the Yellow Jackets (4-10, 3-2 ODAC) the 2-1 decision.
R-MC held a 23-11 advantage in shots, including 17-1 in the second half. Junior Mackenzie Turner (Virginia Beach, Va./Tallwood) led the Yellow Jackets with seven shots, including four on goal.
Freshman Kelsey Stanley (Bumpass, Va.) recorded five saves for R-MC.
Randolph-Macon returns home on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. against Virginia Wesleyan.
