Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Junior Connor Sullivan (Charlotte, N.C./Providence Day School) scored 18 and junior Akeem Holmes (King William, Va./King William) added 16 points and eight rebounds as Randolph-Macon defeated Roanoke 88-73 in ODAC men's basketball Wednesday evening at Crenshaw Gymnasium.
The Yellow Jackets (8-4, 2-1 ODAC) trailed by as many as six early on before taking their first lead at 21-19 with 9:13 to go in the first period. The Maroons (6-5, 0-3) led 27-25 with 7:25 left in the first half before R-MC closed the period on a 27-7 run to take a 52-34 advantage at the break. Holmes scored 10 in the first half, while Sullivan and senior Andre Simon (Newport News, Va./Menchville) both tallied eight.
R-MC led by as many as 30 (85-53) before registering the 88-73 victory.
Junior Chris Hamilton (Bellbrook, Ohio/Bellbrook) scored 12 off the bench for the Yellow Jackets, hitting 4 of 7 from behind the arc. Simon finished with 10 points and six boards for R-MC.
Junior Daniel Eacho had 21 points and 10 rebounds for Roanoke.
The Yellow Jackets have won 11 straight and 25 of the past 26 meetings with the Maroons.
R-MC returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 2 p.m. at Lynchburg.
