Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Senior Andre Simon (Newport News, Va./Menchville) led all scorers with 22 points as the Randolph-Macon men's basketball team earned a 63-55 victory at Gettysburg on Saturday afternoon in its final non-conference contest of the regular season.
The victory pushed the Yellow Jackets' record to 7-4 and gave head coach Nathan Davis his 100th career win in his fifth season at his alma mater. R-MC has won three straight and six of its past seven contests.
Simon was 10 for 17 from the floor 2 for 4 from the free throw line. He added five rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
R-MC built an eight-point lead early in the second half at 33-25 before a 17-7 run by the Bullets (4-7) gave the home team a 42-40 advantage with 11 minutes remaining. Simon made a layup with 7:30 left to give the Yellow Jackets the lead for good at 46-45. Gettysburg pulled to within two at 57-55 before R-MC went 6 for 6 from the free throw line over the final 30 seconds to secure the victory.
The Yellow Jackets jumped out to an 8-1 lead and never trailed in the first period. R-MC held a 26-21 advantage at intermission. Junior Connor Sullivan scored 10 of his 16 points in the first half.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 8, with a 7 p.m. home ODAC contest against Roanoke.
