Box Score ASHLAND, Virginia—The first goal of the day by sophomore
Renee
Greenslade (Hamilton, Bermuda / St. Margaret's) in the second
period gave the Randolph-Macon field hockey team the push it needed
to down Bridgewater 2-0 this afternoon in the Play4theCure
game.
Following a defense-dominated first half, Greenslade, whose only
shot of the day resulted in goal, was joined by midfielder Catherine
Pricone (Arlington, VA / Washington-Lee) who scored in the 64th
minute to give the Yellow Jackets (4-5, 2-0 ODAC) some insurance.
She finished the day with 4 shots, 3 SOG.
Junior Carrie Jacobs
(Orange, VA / Orange County) tallied double-digit shots (10), 2 SOG
as she led the R-MC offense this afternoon. Olivia Newman (Orange,
VA / Orange County) finished with 6 attempts, 1 SOG.
Keeper Steph
Talley (Bordentown, NJ / Bordentown Regional) got the win for
the day and had 3 saves.
Randolph-Macon improves to 2-0 in the conference and returns
home during R-MC Family Weekend Saturday October 5 to face Roanoke
College at 3:00 PM
